SPECIAL NOTE TO VOTERS WITH A VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT
Ballots are two-sided and 17" long. Please open with care and return your voted ballot folded the same way as you received it. Return postage is one first class stamp (73 cents). Please return your ballot at least 7 (seven) days before Election Day (Novemeber 5th) to be sure we receive it by the deadline.

Time to Renew Your Vote by Mail Request
All mail ballot requests expired on December 31, 2022. If you would like to continue voting by mail for the upcoming 2024 elections, you must submit a new request to receive a ballot. Requesting a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) ballot is easy!
Candidates and Issues
You can find out about the issues by reading the newspaper, surfing the Internet, watching the candidates debate each other on television, listening to the radio, and/or attending campaign events where you may meet the candidates in person and ask them what they will do if they are elected.

Petition Status Report
Florida citizens have the right to propose amendments to the Florida Constitution through an initiative petition process. Highlands County Supervisor of Elections verifies thousands of initiative petitions each year signed by voters in Highlands County. Sponsors of these initiatives must secure the required number of valid signatures in order for their initiative to be placed on a General Election ballot. Pursuant to Florida Statute 100.371(11)(b), Highlands County's actual cost of signature verification of an initiative petition is $0.20 as of February 1, 2024.
